Antique Royal Stuart Thistle Jardinière and Pedestal
Important condition note – please read first
This antique jardinière has a large structural crack, multiple chips, extensive glaze crazing, and worn gilding. It is best suited for careful decorative display with dried flowers, faux botanicals, or as a standalone architectural accent. It should not be used to hold water or live plants unless professionally assessed and properly lined. Please review every photograph carefully, as the images form an important part of the condition description. The damage is significant, but it is also part of what makes this jardinière especially beautiful and visually compelling.
Antique Royal Stuart Thistle Jardinière and Pedestal
A highly decorative antique European porcelain jardinière and matching pedestal stand in the elegant Thistle pattern. This ornate two‑piece set features a warm ivory ground decorated with delicate pink, purple, yellow, and blue floral sprays, raised molded details, scalloped edges, gilded accents, scrolling feet, and elaborate curled handles.
The jardinière sits on its original matching pedestal, creating a striking statement display for an entryway, dining room, sunroom, antique sideboard, or vintage‑inspired interior. The underside bears the S.F. Co. Royal Stuart England mark, associated with S. Fielding & Co. of Stoke‑on‑Trent, England.
Its softly aged surface, antique patina, worn gilding, glaze crazing, large chips, and prominent crack give the piece an especially distinctive and sculptural character. These imperfections contribute to its one‑of‑a‑kind antique appearance and make it particularly appealing for collectors and interiors that celebrate beautifully aged objects.

Why this piece is special

If you’re drawn to pieces with history, visible wear, and a sense of drama, this jardinière will be a standout in your home.
